Custom Horse Hair Pottery by Sharon Widmer
Horse hair pottery is a traditional art form made famous by the Navajo Indians. This pottery gets its name because the artist applies real horse hair onto red hot pottery to burn bold, unique designs into the clay. Most of Sharon's work is commissioned by horse owners commemorating special horses they've had in their lives. She would be pleased for you to own a piece of her artwork from her gallery, or would be honored to create a very special, personal piece of pottery for you. Below are a few examples of custom pieces. Please call Sharon at 641-777-6934 for ordering information and check Facebook @High Banks Pottery to browse albums full of her work.
